Hosted CRM

CRM is a hot concept, and rightly so. The acronym stands for Customer Relationship Management system.

Typical CRM functions include:

  • Capturing leads from your web site
  • Assigning leads for followup
  • Tracking information and opportunities that present
  • Calendaring to make sure that contacts are made
  • Email list management

The CRM system will help you and your staff ensure that everyone has up to date information about your current and future customers, and that everyone works together smoothly to provide a positive customer experience.

Other functions may include:

  • basic document management
  • a "dashboard" overview screen
  • mail merge
  • quotes/invoices
  • mapping of leads and contacts

We recommend Intelestream's implementations of SugarCRM , a web-server based solution, with the attendant ease of deployment, and convenience of being able to work from anywhere that there is an Internet connection

We find that Intelestream consistently offers superior features at lower cost.

TCO - Managed vs. Unmanaged

A recent Gartner report on the total cost of ownership (TCO) for Vista stated, “The best way to reduce PC TCO is to improve the way PCs are managed. Our model shows that a typically managed desktop can reduce TCO by more than 13%. Removing administrator access from appropriate users and adding policy and process to consistently manage desktops can reduce TCO by 37% compared with an unmanaged desktop.”

If you are running standalone PCs, and not using group policy and other Directory based features to create consistency among your organization's desktops, your organization falls into the "unmanaged" category.

Gartner's findings are very consistent with our clients' - that thin clients, especially diskless thin clients that have nothing onboard to manage, reduce TCO by at least 50%.

Top Technologies

InfoWorld published 2007 Technology of The Year Awards

This isn't your average weather report...many of these trends have come to the fore.

We employ several of these technologies and concepts, including:

  • Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Open Source
  • HyperTransport and HyperThreading processors
  • NAS and SAN for storage

The sidebar, Dawn of the Web Office, caught the front of that particular wave.
